Make me a Good Priest

Sangkan 1&2 host for this year is Binmaley Pangasinan. The theme of the Sangkan was: “We are one body.” Msgr. Jesus A. Cabrera presided over the Eucharist. In his homily he taught this simple and yet very important prayer for all the seminarians: “Lord Jesus, if you want me to be a priest, make me a good priest.” To the parents he also gave this similar prayer: “Lord, if you want my son to be priest, make him a good priest.” The second yr high school placed 1st runner in the overall with only 5 points difference to MGCS of Pampanga. The first year high school placed 3rd. Here are some of the winners: Second Year – champion in chess. For the First Year – champion in pool, games of the general. Details to follow.

MAS mourns for Fr. Rene

Fr. Regino Vigilia died on January 23, 2012 8:15am. He died of colon cancer at the age of 69 . He was the former rector of the seminary in the year 1986-1990. He was remembered by his students in the seminary as very “fatherly.” To the priests he was fondly called “Dad.” During his funeral mass, 3 bishops were present, Bp Cinense and Bp Gregorio with Bp Bancud as the presider. Fr. Rene’s family and close friends attended the mass. Around 70 priests were present. The whole church of CIC was filled with people during the celebration. His body now rests at the New Cathedral Crypt, Lakewood City at the priests’ place. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord. And let your perpetual light shine on him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
